Lighting is the most important need in the home, even more important than thermal comfort. That's why I came up with the idea of turning the outdoor use of solar lamps on solution for indoor use. What's more, for lighting, 61% of the carbon generated is linked to the use of the product. Choosing solar means eliminating this impact.
Then, when I arrived at Leroy Merlin, I discovered the ceiling fan, an unpopular product because of its "grandparents' living room" connotations. It uses 38 times less energy than a mobile air conditioner and can save up to 5 degrees of heat in a bedroom in summer, not to mention the fact that it can be used in winter to optimise the flow of heat in the home and save dozens of euros a month in energy consumption! But, to get the French people to change, we need to innovate on the aesthetics of the product to make it as desirable as a "Designer lamp".
To summarize we have 2 products to help you save energy at home, and are great areas for innovation to prepare for the future. This contest will allow us to recruit and discover the talents of tomorrow and to design differently, so get the word out! Last but not least the contest page is eco-designed (cleaner than 96% of pages) and beautiful!
Solenn Roch has designed a lamp that allows you to light your home without electricity. Horus is inspired by the blue eye, a symbol of luck and protection. The collection includes floor lamps and pendants. The light is diffused through the thickness of the glass/plexiglass, creating a soft glow. The design of the product is a reflection of their watchmaking experience.
Edoardo Giusfredi & Luca Fiorentino have joined forces to create Eolia, a three-blade ceiling fan that takes its name from the mythical island of the same name, home of the wind god Aeolus. The shape and the aluminium from which it is made are inspired by Brutalism, making the structure physically and visually light. The 45-degree tilted end blades help to maximise performance and improve efficiency.
